Math
3rd Grade:
Signed Checkpoint A quiz
Practice multiplication recall at least 3 times per week using the Xtramath site until you complete the first level, which covers basic multiplication of 0-5 with a 6-second recall.
We are currently working in Unit 1. Students interpret and represent data on picture graphs and scaled bar graphs, and solve one- and two-step word problems using the data. The use of scaled graphs and contexts with equal groups serves as a foundation for later units on multiplication.
4th Grade:
Unit 1 Signed Test Letter due Friday
Test Friday- Study for 20+ minutes
Practice * / math facts for 10+ minutes each day!
In class, we have a goal of completing one session of Math Fact Practice in Prodigy. If your child misses a day of school, please ask him/her to complete this at home. It takes about 10 minutes. Students brought home a Prodigy letter with the student login in information for home use.
We are currently in our Unit 1 study. Students explore the concepts of factors and multiples in depth, as well as prime and composite numbers. We also are making meaningful connections to geometry by examining how this understanding helps us calculate the area of rectangles.
Math i-Ready testing takes place this week on Thursday, Sept 24th
The most important thing we can do is prepare students and motivate them to put forth their best effort during the test. To help prepare your child for the i-Ready Diagnostic, encourage them to
● Get a good night's sleep and eat a full breakfast on the day(s) of the assessment.
● Try their best on each question and try not to rush.
● Try not to worry about questions they do not know
